Ethylene Scrubber
The most effective process for cost and efficiency of ethylene and aroma removal in cold storage areas.
Photo catalyst

- Maintain the high quality of yours products
- Absoger photo catalyst has been developed in collaboration with European Research center’s.
- This patented solution allows to eliminate all the ethylene in cold rooms and by the way stops the maturation of your products without any injection of chemical products
C2H4 = 3O2 + UV =>2CO2 + 2 H2 O
- Working Principe
- Cold room air is drawn in by a fan and send into the photo-catalyst, which is composed of turbulators treated with titanium oxide.
- The catalyst is activated thanks to an ultraviolet lamp.
- Ethylene is eliminated while passing through the catalyst reactor:

Platinium catalyst

- Two versions of the Ethylene scrubber are available : fixed or mobile..
For Controlled Atmosphere, the unit is designed to be gas tight and is equipped with connections and pipes which allow an outside installation.
- Ethylene scrubber : maintains an ethylene level below 0,02 ppm, for kiwi fruit conservation.
- Eliminates the need for chemical products (antioxydant) for some varieties of apples which are sensitive to scalding, provided the values remain close to 0,1 ppm.
- Allows melon sellers and wholesalers to hold stock in better condition and have greater marketing flexibility.
- The use of ABSOGER ETHYLENE SCRUBBERS will give you longer storage for the following products : cucumbers, avocados, sprouts, melons, mangos, papayas, peaches, kakis,
plums, leaks, kiwi fruits, pears, apples, bananas, apricots, carrots, endives, oranges, lemons, onions, potatoes, etc, ...

Cold room air is drawn in by one of the fans (1).
Existing ethylene is burned in the central part (catalytic layer, 2), which is kept at 230° - 260°C, by an electrical heating element (3).
Then, the air cools down while passing through at heat exchanger (ceramic, 4) and it comes back into the room without the ethylene molecules.
Flow directions are inverted periodically so that the recycled air temperature is close to the room temperature...
